Australian Food: Vegemite

I have been reading some books written by Aussie authors and in all of them children eat Vegemite, which I thought had something to to with a fat free sauce but it turned out to be a type of spread paste made from leftover brewers' yeast extracts . It was created in 1922 and it has some vegetables and spices.

It is usually spread on bread, sandwiches and crackers and resembles Marmite. When looking for information about it I found this fun video of American children tasting it for the first time.
